Semerjian picked a neutral colour palette with green accents. “I picked the colour green as my primary accent color, since I really liked how the green popped against the furniture,” she states. “I felt the space required to be warmed up since I used a cool-toned colour palette. Also, the city of Vandling is from the hills, and I thought the green was a nice way to attract the colour of nature indoors.”

Green was a big hit with Pucul, who states, “My favourite thing in the room is the colors; they all go together so nicely.” A mixture of cushions from Design Within Reach add green accents on the sofas.

Semerjian substituted the sink in the corner of this slick Line Bar. “Carl loves the wine bar; it holds all of his favourite items,” Pucul states.

The designer lightened up the room with paint onto the walls and ceiling, and produced a clean-lined and comfy seating area with more Design Within Reach products, including two Raleigh sofas, a Noguchi coffee table plus a sleekMilo Baughman recliner. The timber on the sofas, the pub and the coffee table base adds warmth to the mixture.

Semerjian spied these drapes at the High Point Furniture Market and knew they would be a fantastic way to add pattern and amp the existence of the window. “I loved the geometric pattern onto the drapes,” she states. “They are 100 percent cotton, fully lined, and have a very considerable weight and texture to them. I picked grommets rather than rings to get a more organized and clean look.”

“I felt that the scale of the existing fireplace was too narrow and small for the large wall,” Semerjian states. She solved this by surrounding it with tile. She picked Savoy Penny out of Ann Sacks. “I loved the colour, the scale and the geometry of the tile,” she states. “I framed the edges using a metal Schluter strip to finish off the edges and to frame it like a work of art” The fireplace is a focus in the room.

“On a day like today, with a lot of snow falling, both Carl and I like light the fireplace, opening a bottle of wine and relaxing in our living area,” Pucul states. Carl often spends time reading here while she is at work. “He finds it quite calming,” she states. “I recently had my book club girls over, and we spent the afternoon sitting around the coffee table eating snacks and talking many things — like the book we read”

“The Puculs were absolutely amazing to work with — very easygoing and respectful,” Semerjian states. “I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to work with them. I am really happy they won because good men and women deserve good things.”
